For those of you who don’t know, Rob has been going to school to become a Fire Fighter. Just yesterday he had an interview with LA City Fire Department. He said that this was one of the hardest interviews he has ever had. The preparation alone coming to this point was INSANE! He had his interview at 1:30 and i got a call at almost 2:30, the ecstatic voice on the other end was my husband yelling with excitement that he passed his interview!!!! YAAAHHHOOOOO!!!!! This was just the best news ever!

Although this doesn’t automatically mean that he is hired, it is a HUGE step in the process. Up next is the background interview coming up in mid August, after he passes that he will be put on a “list” with all the other people who have made it that far. Then it’s just a waiting game to see which station picks him up. This could be anywhere from 6 months to a year. LA City Fire has over 100 stations so lets hope that makes his chances even better!

While all of this is happening he will still be taking his required classes and going through regular Academy. Keep him in your prayers to stay strong and positive. Thanks!

But its Sunday you say? Well i know. but i didn’t want to wait till next Thurs!! Getting “Photoshoot Thursday” actually shot and edited AND posted on Thursday is kinda hard! So here ya go……

Kel and I went down to Balboa. We had intended to take shots at there mini…i dont know, fun park i guess you can say. I haven’t been down there since High school, but from what i remember, they have like an arcade area and a ferris wheel. There used to be a photobooth but i checked on photobooth.net (which is SUCH a great idea), and they said it had moved. bummer. So when we got there Keleigh soon realized that we were on the wrong side and needed to take the ferry across (my bad!). Well neither of us brought our wallets and didn’t feel like pan handling so we just walked around for a while…..

Now this gentleman was AWESOME. I figure it’s his daily evening routine to come down to the boardwalk, watch the sun go down and smoke a cigarette. Well this day he happen to sit at a bench that was right in front of where Kel and i were taking pictures. I hesitated for a moment about asking if i could take a picture of him but then just grabbed my camera and went for it. He was surprised i wanted to take one of him but happily said yes! I didn’t get his name, but it made me wish that i still had a grandpa. This man will always be cool in my book!

Then to top it off he said he would take a pic of Kel and i! I handed him my camera and told him what to do. I think the picture came out great, if i do say so myself…

And yes. In this post i also went crazy with the layers. I’m just trying them all out guys!

This is a super cool wedding Kel and I did this past Sunday at a RAD estate in LA. Cassie & Chip were the happy couple. Kel and I actually went to school with Cassie, so that was cool to see her again.

Amazing ring…

She had her dress made and it looked like it came straight out of the 40’s/50’s…

Classic…..

We shot all their pictures before the ceremony, so this was the first time i got to do “The First Looks”. It was really cool to see how excited they were when they saw each other.

The groom and best man being MEN..

Chips sister married them, which was really special…

Paparazzi!!

Amazing wedding. Thanks guys!

I hunted around flickr today and found some rad new layers….

This one is from Angelique. If you have a flickr account sign in to access her free layers!!!

Kel and I did a cool wedding over the weekend. I will be editing those prob friday and posting them in the evening..

Other than that. Its been pretty boring….

Tonight Rob and i ventured downtown to the O.C. Fair. This years theme was “Say Cheese”. People could enter there pictures to be on display. Shalimar actually was accepted to have 2 of her pictures on display and when she went down to drop them off she realized she was one day late and couldn’t enter them! Big bummer because honestly, they would have, by far been the best Shal! I didn’t see one picture that inspired me so that sucked. I know there are a ton of awesome photographers out there. Where was everyone??

You can always count on smart fashions at the fair…..

We ate as soon as we got there….i had cold pizza.

Then wondered around the gardens…

Anybody want a carrot?

Then OF COURSE i had to get our pic done at the photo booth. 5 bucks…. ridiculous…

The last frame is how we look in real life.

Then we went to watch these dirt bike riders. They were racing in a circle with no brakes. Rob was in HEAVEN!  We thought – oh sweet. A spot to stand in right up front, what our luck. Well when they came around the curve we got shot  at with clumps of dirt. We were crackin up and made our way up to the stands to watch them race for a while…

My purse with dirt all over it…

Thanks O.C. Fair, good times…

So as most of you know, when Robert gets an idea in his head he wants to make it happen like NOW!! The other day he brought up the fact that he wanted a record player again. We both had one when we were younger. I remember putting a record on in my old dark room (oh how i miss you dark room!) and staying in there for hours. I mentioned it to my mom and asked her to see if she was still storing my brothers at their house. I figured we could just “borrow” it for a while….. till he forgot about it. Well, my mom couldnt find it, but that didn’t stop her. She popped into her nearbye Antique Mall and just so happened to find a refurbished one!!!! She brought it out and we have been loving it ever since!!! Thanks mom! We are relaxing to the amazing tunes only records can produce……If anyone has some suggestions on good jazz records let me know!

Well, Rob has been obsessed with golf lately. Its the new thing here! He has told me on more than one occasion that he has to golf at least once a week or he will DIE! Last week he and his dad had a mid week golf day at Mountain Gate golf course in Corona. He slipped in a couple of pics before his dad had a heart attack over it. Its OK Buddy, the camera won’t bite!!! hahah

So Kel and i are going to try and find cool places to shoot when she comes out on thurs from now on. This week we went over to Back Bay. Its a “nature walk” area, so to speak. There are always people riding bikes or walking their dogs while enjoying the view. I had to bring Bella with us so she could get out, which made shooting kinda difficult. Whoever was taking pictures had to hold her and she most of the time didnt want to stay in one place haha…..

This is the first time both Rob and I have played Rock Band. Seriously folks, good times had by all. We were out in San Diego to hang out with some of the family this weekend. Some would say a reunion of sorts.

Matt took charge and got the night started..

…..then checked out early…

Ray, getting the crowd going…

Me and my “turtle” neck…

Rob & Ray, look at that concentration…

Kyle, Mr. Multi-Tasker…….

Rachel and Sara played back-up to all of the terrible amazing signers…

Rachael, she shouted out those “hhheeeeeeeeyyyyyssss” better than anyone!

We finally let Sara off the drums so she could get a couple songs in, I think she got everyone right…

Kyle tried his hand on the drums…

Robert and his guitar solo…

Sorry ladies, this man is off the market….
