Happy Friday!

Robert turned 27 yesterday, and we celebrated it at his folks house. We had a blast hanging out, playing darts and of course…pictionary.

Here’s Bella, clearly excited about the big day…

I thought it was a good idea to show Carolee how i have been doing lunges. Well apparently i was still too sore from my weekly workout and pulled a muscle in my butt…big time. After some happy pills and a few cat naps i was able to hobble around the party….

Thank you everyone for all the cards and gifts, and just being there with Rob on his birthday, it was great!

Well, most of you know that Rob passed his National Registry test!!! Basically this test acknowledges him to work nation wide as an EMT (if hired). So this is huge! Also, he met with his background investigator yesterday and turned in the last bit of paperwork that was needed. Now all we do is wait……. hopefully soon he will be getting something in the mail or a phone call from LA city saying that he has been hired. At that point he will start Fire Academy. We will keep you posted….

It’s ironic how we mourn the loss of one, and celebrate the arrival of another all in the same day. Today was Mark Lamberth’s memorial service. It was beautiful and Angie did a wonderful job in reflecting what a man of God her husband was. He will truly be missed, and so many people have grown closer to the Lord because of him.

Straight from the service my mom and I drove out to Rachel’s baby shower for Raelynne, who will be joining us in February! They just moved into their new house and we took advantage of breaking it in for them….

Mark is with the Lord.

January 8, 2009 by troylamberth

About 5:30 this evening, Mark went home to be with the Lord. Gathered around him were his wife, his parents, his siblings, and many other family and friends.  We can’t begin to explain how grateful we are for all of your prayers and kind words. This has been a very long 4 weeks, but God has shown Himself to be strong.

Please keep Angie and Nolan in your prayers. Angie has said that she already feels so lonely.  Please continue to visit this blog to show Angie your support.  We will have an announcement soon about how you can help support them through a memorial fund. Also, we will let you know about the pending memorial service

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14:
But we do not want you to be uninformed brothers, about those who are asleep, that you man not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so through jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.

….My mom, Josh and I were there last night. There was a lot of tears, but also some smiles in remembering what an amazing, kind man Mark was…

I just wanted to bring Mark to the top of my page again and to remind everybody to keep praying for him and his family…

Here is the most recent update I pulled from his web page….

PM Update Day 23

January 3, 2009 by joshuaangulo

Mark is steady and looks better.  As we pray for a complete miraculous healing, here are some specifics that you can pray for as well.

His lungs need to be suctioned this evening which will allow more oxygen to circulate throughout his body and to his brain.  Pray that the procedure has the desired result.

Please also continue to pray that we see more signs of brain activity as they continue to slowly wean Mark from the sedatives that he’s been on.

His fever is pretty much gone.  Thanks for praying!

….although this is good news, there is still an extremely long road ahead. Keep praying for these small steps!!

Well Rob and I rang in the New Year in San Diego, and both of us are still sick from Christmas….I lost my voice on Wednesday evening and didn’t find it again until Friday morning…

We went up with Rob’s family to his Aunt and Uncles house right on the bay. They were away on vacation and graciously let us stay in their home.  We of course got our Jenga On!

Here’s Rob, with Brooke’s help, trying to…uh…straighten the Jenga out….
